MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF EASTS VOLLEYBALL

During this time of COVID19, living with restrictions and putting many things we love and do on hold has been very difficult. Queensland Government has indicated their priority to get Queensland people active and to do so have set up a staged approach for the return of community sport.
Complying with government requirements to be COVID safe is quite complex. At the present time we as a committee are required to be familiar and comply with requirements that are contained in six different documents. These documents come from Queensland Government, QSport, Volleyball Australia and Volleyball Queensland. All of these documents are still changing from time to time.
We had the choice to comply with an industry approved plan or create our own “Return to Sport plan”. We chose to comply with the government’s “Return to Play” approved industry plan as it has been collaboratively created by some of Qld’s key State Sporting Associations, including Volleyball Queensland.
The document below outlines Eats approach to implementing the Approved Industry Plan and the specific actions we have taken to implement this plan in our current activities.
I would like to thank all of our committee for helping to create this plan and for the efforts in the future to implement the plan.
The state of COVID19 and the set restrictions continually evolve. We will keep you updated on the current situation and what are the requirements of all our members and their families. This information will be updated on our website and the Easts Facebook page and notifications will be sent to you through TeamApp.
The fundamental principles in Easts approach to this situation and implementing the Approved Industry Plan is to support the health and welfare of our members, their families and friends, and the wider Queensland community. We welcome any feedback that you have about our plan and will provide further clarification of any part that document if you need it.
As we work through the stages of lifting restrictions we must keep in our thoughts that we are not rid of the coronavirus and we must proceed with caution and be respectful of the requirements put in place to keep us all safe. All of us being responsible and adhering to the rules and restrictions of each of the stages will keep each other safe and allows us to gradually get back to train and play volleyball as we remember.
